Vortex Mixer

It is a simple device used majorly in laboratories to blend small vials of liquid. It comprises a machine with the prop shaft oriented vertically and connected to a concave rubber piece mounted slightly off-center. As the device move the rubber piece swing rapidly in a circular motion. When appropriate vessel or a test tube is pressed into the rubber cup (or touched to its extremity) the motion is transfered to the liquid inside and a vortex is developed. Most mixers are sketched with 4 or 2-plate formats, have changeable speed settings ranging from 3,200 rpm to 100 and can be set to run constantly or to run only when descending pressure is put into the rubber piece.

Use. Vortex mixers are pretty mainstream in bioscience laboratories. In microbiology and cell culture laboratories, they may be utilized to suspend cells. In an analytical or biochemical laboratory, they may be utilized to mix the reagents of an assay or to combine a dilutant and an experimental sample.
This mixer was invented by brothers Harold D. and Jack A. Kraft while working for Scientific Industries

What does a vortex mixer do?

These are one of the chief technologies for blending laboratory samples in flasks, test tubes, and well plates. They utilize a reasonably plain mechanism to whisk samples and encourage homogenization or reactions with a high degree of precision.

In this method, motorized prop shafts beneath the sample platform swing rapidly, thereby shifting orbital motion to sample containers loaded into the mixer. This answers in undergoing turbulent flow and sample fluids circulating; in other words, it develops a vortex.

What is the principle of vortex mixture?

It is a relatively easy device, utilized in biochemical, bioscience, microbiology, and analytical laboratory settings to blend small vials of liquids in a fast oscillating circular motion. When the motion of the elastic cup holder on the mixer is shifted to the liquid sample, a vortex is developed.

Vortex mixers and their benefits

•            A laboratory has a number of tasks and hence has different devices for various applications.

•            One of the usual devices establish in a laboratory is the Vortex mixer. It is capable of blending small vials of liquid. The task is not pretty tough and hence the device is a pretty as simple one too.

•            The manner it works is a test tube is placed into the rubber piece and thus it revolves. It has numerous speed options for various purposes.

Vortex Mixers from Kumar Instruments: At this place, a mixer is popular for next-generation laboratory Instruments equipment and is an ISO 13485:2003 certified laboratory equipment manufacturer. Their products are manufactured in our country and are of International Standard besides which they are also sticking to the International CE standards. Besides numerous other laboratory stuff, Kumar Instruments do manufacture mini vortex mixers. Small vortex mixers are furnished with long-lasting BLDC motors and supply more than enough RPM for a fast mixing with an orbital diameter of 4.5 mm. It can be operated by a single press and is vigorously designed and hence has an intensified life.
